Genius Loci: discovering Santa Croce

From the 26th to the 28th September talks, concerts and performances that dialogue in the spirit of the place

At the end of this month the Festival Genius Loci, discovering Santa Croce, returns. From the 26th to the 28th of September one of the most fascinating places of spirituality, art and past memory in the world will dialogue, through contemporary expressions, on the current theme of relations between man and nature. 

For this seventh edition of the festival a schedule of two nights and a dawn, including concerts, talks and shows by artists, intellectuals, writers and musicians will accompany the public in an unprecedented and evocative experience, in search of an exclusive blend of spirituality and beauty.

Among the protagonists of the festival Donatella di Pietrantonio, winner of the Strega Prize and Strega Giovani Prize 2024, Andrea Motis a real revelation of jazz from Barcelona, the documentary filmmaker Folco Terzani, as well as John Greaves who will pay a tribute to the British prog scene whilst Marco Pirovano will reinterpret one of the most famous shows of the couple Fo/Rame, Lu Santo Jullare Francesco.

The Genius Loci festival is promoted by the Associazione Controradio Club, the Opera di Santa Croce and Controradio in collaboration with the Association La Nottola di Minerva and with the contribution of  the Florence Municipality for the Estate Fiorentina 2024 – an initiative proposed within the Piano Operativo of the City of Firenze. The project is co financied by the European Union– European Structural and Investment Funds.

Access is free with mandatory reservations required to be made online https://www.santacroceopera.it/en/ from the following dates:

  • 11 September: from 3.00 p.m. tickets are available for the evening event on 26th September;
  • 12 September: from 3.00 p.m. tickets are available for the evening event on 27th September;
  • 13 September: from 10.00 a.m. tickets are available for the concert at dawn on 28th September
